Birth Story - Ramya & Hari Vignesh

Sometimes the events in real life are more eventful than fiction or a story! This is one kind of a delivery where the expectant mother Ms. Ramya went through many challenges… Ramya’s sister-in-law delivered both her babies with us here at My Birthplace. Ramya as many daughters, is very special to her dad and fully pampered! It’s always wonderful to see the father and daughter bond with tons of care even when the daughter is quite grown up…

Ramya used to accompany her sister-in-law during her deliveries and saw for herself the kind of approach and care she was provided by our Chief and team… Ramya decided that whenever it is she’ll have her baby delivered at My Birthplace under the care of our Chief Dr. Lakshmi Priya…

When Ramya conceived it was one peak of corona and naturally she was scared all this made her very anxious… understandably she was restless and worried… as many would be moms undergo varied emotions… they all spend good time sharing and listening to our Chief and Ramya fully utilised it… she would come frequently to meet our Chief and talk… and our Chief would be very patient as ever and more towards Ramya as she knew her family well…

Counselling from our Chief helped her a lot and also our Chief asked her to enroll for our in-house yoga and pranayama sessions and this really helped Ramya to stabilise and get good clarity.

As she started to settle… at 33 weeks we noticed that there was decreased water levels and she had to be given more attention and personal care. But our Chief ensured Ramya stayed positive…

Now destiny had different plans… at around 37+ weeks, Ramya met with an accident!!! Grace was with her and nothing happened to the baby… and Ramya landed up with some minor injuries… the whole family… especially her dad… understandably and naturally were extremely worried… they all rushed to the hospital… it was quite a lot to handle for our team and especially our Chief…

The family was pressurising us for a section… as they felt that there should not be any hidden impact for the baby during labour later due the accident. Intense pressure from all sides both on our team and Ramya to go for a section.

After medically examining Ramya and assesing all risks… our Chief felt that there was no need for any emergency section… but the family wasn’t convinced… obviously they’d their own reasoning and rightly so… so our Chief decided to talk to Ramya and then it emerged that Ramya was keen and very keen to have a normal delivery… at least she wanted to try…

Our Chief always respects and is very sensitive to the would be mother’s sensitivities and always advices to respect their bodies… so inspite of all the panic and pressure Ramya and our Chief stood ground…. And the family too understood that their daughter was is safe and assured hands…

It was a 18 hour labour… Ramya went through lots of emotions… the team stood by her… and it was worth all the pain and patience… The Future King emerged… normally…struggles, panic, anxiety and pain gave way to joy and love…

A pregnancy and labour filled with lots of struggles, challenges and emotions than the usual… but what we learnt is under safe, focused and personal care with needed experience and expertise to back… and of course the grit and determination of the would be mother blended with the care and support of the family it’s always a happy ending!!!

We at My Birthplace - India’s First and Only Integrative Birthing Centre Led by Doctors wish the couple, the baby and the family a life filled with prosperity, love and health.
